Vijnana Yoga combines breath (pranayama), movement (asana), and mindful attention to cultivate inner awareness, body awareness, grounding, and ease.
This class places special emphasis on pelvic floor health, exploring gentle release and improved coordination of the muscles that support the pelvis and core. You will also learn practical tools for body awareness, alignment, and movement habits that can help support and protect the pelvic floor in everyday life.
I have chosen to combine yoga with Qigong, creating a playful and creative approach to movement.
Qigong, pronounced “chi gong,” developed in China thousands of years ago and is rooted in traditional Chinese medicine. It uses flowing movements, breath, and focused attention to cultivate and circulate Qi (Chi), with the aim of supporting health and well-being.
Yoga, a body–mind–spirit practice that originated in India thousands of years ago, offers a complementary path toward balance, awareness, and vitality.
Together, yoga and Qigong create a fluid practice that brings spaciousness, grounding, and joy into the body.
And then we add a little of everything I love: alignment tips, self-massage, Paula exercises, dance, music, and playful exploration.
This is the creative blend I enjoy bringing into my classes.
Come and try!
Practicing qigong and yoga may improve fitness, reduce anxiety and depression, relieve chronic pain, increase balance, strengthen the immune and respiratory systems and make you happy. It involves moving meditation, slow flowing movement, and strengthening and stretching, deep breathing and a calm meditative state of mind. In my experience, these two modalities which I have been practicing for over 20 years , have been my rock. No matter what is happening in my life, having a practice has kept me balanced and focused, feeling stronger, healthier and happier.
I teach in Rehavia on Monday evening at 18:30 and Thursday mornings, 9:30-10:45. Also, stay tuned for women's retreats!
